CON-X 2023 welcomes baseball legends Brent Strom and Henry "Turtle" Thomas

MLB greats Brent Strom and Henry "Turtle" Thomas are set to appear at CON-X 2023 in Rimini

Pitchers and catchers will delight when legendary pitching coach Brent Strom and catching coach Henry "Turtle" Thomas take the stage at CON-X, the annual Italian baseball and softball convention scheduled at Palacongressi di Rimini from January 27-29, 2023.

Back by popular demand after his appearance at CON6 2020, Brent Strom has been heralded by pitchers for his ability to combine old-school teaching with modern analytics. An MLB pitching veteran for five seasons in the 1970s, he is the current Arizona Diamondbacks pitching coach. Beginning in 1992, Brent Strom served as pitching coach for several MLB franchises, including the Houston Astros. He led the team a World Series championship title win in 2017 as well as two other championship appearances in 2019 and 2021. It was during this time that he helped two of his pitchers, Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander, win Cy Young Awards.

Henry “Turtle” Thomas is a collegiate baseball legend, having won the national title twice as an assistant coach (University of Miami in 1999 and Louisiana State University in 2000) and making it to the finals 14 times. In addition to his role as an assistant coach, Thomas is known for his skills as a recruiter, a figure who is responsible for looking for the best high school players in the country. In fact, the classes he selected for nineteen consecutive years from 1988-2006 were named among the top 10 in the country by Collegiate Baseball. He currently works as a coaching coach in the Texas Rangers organization. Forza #Italia!
