Rain spoiled most of Serie A1 softball action on Saturday, April 23, 2022. However, Banco di Sardegna Nuoro and Poderi Dal Nespoli Forlì managed to play their doubleheader. Forli won the first game by a score of 24-3. Three-run home runs by Forli sluggers Veronica Onofri and Beatrice Ricchi highlighted the powerful offense. In fact, Beatrice Ricchi went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two walks. Nuoro's Hannah Clark had a three-run bomb of her own to account for the team's only runs.
Game two was an evenly matched competion with Nuoro's Annabelle Ramirez and Forli's Ilaria Cacciamani in the pitcher's circle. Hannah Clark's solo shot gave Banco di Sardegna Nuoro a short-lived 1-0 lead early in the bottom of the first inning. Poderi Dal Nespoli Forli tied the contest in the third inning when Ilaria Cacciamani tripled and Miriana Cerioni drove her in with an RBI single. Forli scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to make it a 3-1 game. Beatrice Ricchi was hit by a pitch and later crossed the plate on an RBI double by Mariah Jameyson. An RBI single by Carlotta Onofri gave Forli an insurance run. As a result of the doubleheader sweep, Forli is in sole possession of first place in Group B. Forza #Italia
