On Saturday evening in Bolonga, Fortitudo Bologna finished off their 3rd consecutive sweep in 2014 thanks to a 6 to 4 win over Lino’s Coffee Parma. Bologna got off to a quick 4 to nothing lead against Parma, however the bat of Marval couldn’t be silenced by De Santis, as the switch hitting catcher knocked a two run shot out of the park to pull Parma to within 2 runs in the top of the 6th. UnipolSai Bologna responded with 2 more in the bottom half of the 6th to pad their lead once again to 4 runw. In the 8th with Filippo Crepaldi on the bump Marval was back at it with a 2 RBI double to left center, which put Parma back within striking distance, however Crepaldi settled in after that, and was able to close the door on Parma in order to complete the two game sweep.

Tommasin Padova was able to take down Nettuno on their home field in the nightcap in order to walk away with the two game split. The final in this one was 8 to 6 after 10 innings of play in a game that lasted from 8:30 to half past 12. Uvideo shined for Padova, who lasted from the 1st to the 6th, as the righty gave up a total of 6 hits and 2 runs before handing the ball over to Acosta who struggled a little giving up 4 run off of 7 hits in 7 innings of play. The difference in this back and forth battle from the 7th to the 10th was the persistence in the bats of Padova, as they eventually prevailed when they came up with a big 2 run top of the tenth, which put them out to the final score of 8 to 6. With the win Padova stays at .500 with a 5 and 5 record, while Nettuno walks away with 6 and 4 record after the first 5 weeks of play.
