The Italian Softball League was pretty much shut down for this 1st weekend of May due to a heavy rainfall across Italy. With Division B’s games being canceled before the start of play on Saturday, the action was already limited to Division A.

Getting started with the game against Legnano (3-5) and Banco Sardegna Nuoro (1-6), two clubs that currently find themselves towards the bottom of the standings went at it for one of two, as game two was canceled due to rainfall in the area. Legnano got off to a quick 2-0 lead in the 1st thanks to 2 hits, 2 runs and an error. In the bottom of the 3rd Nuoro came back with a run thanks to an RBI double off the bat of Collina, and after Legnano put up one more in 4th, Nuoro was able to tie the game at 3 all with 2 of their own in the bottom half of the 4th. In the 6th Legnano crossed what would turn out to be the winning run when Warwick scored on a throwing error. Picking up the win for Legnano was Silvia Durot.

Alice Nicolini went all 8 for the win, giving up only a single hit and two walks in the process. Suffering the loss for Caronno was Debora Moretto it what was a very gutsy performance.

Finally in Division A, the only two clubs that were able to complete their two game doubleheader were the Stars and La Loggia. Both clubs walked away with a game apiece, with Rhibo La Loggia taking game 1 by the final of 8 to 4, while the Stars of Staranzano took a close game two by the final of 3 to 2. In game one it was Elisa Brandino that picked up the ‘W’ with 6 innings of solid work on the mound. 2 runs in the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 3 more in the 7th completed what turned out to be a spectacular comeback after having fallen behind 4 to nothing after the first 3 innings of play. In game two it was the Stars turn to come from behind for the win after falling behind 2 to nothing after the first inning of play. 1 in the 4th and 2 in the bottom half of the 6th along with the complete game performance by Mikayla Endicott was the difference in this one. With the split La Loggia is still able to hang onto the top spot in the division, a half game up on Bollate, while the Stars are still hanging in there in the middle of the pack at 4 and 4.
