The 2014 ''Blue F Ball'' goes to Fortitudo Bologna

Fortitudo Bologna took care of San Marion in the finals of the ‘Blue F Ball’ tournament by the final of 9-3 on Sunday afternoon

Fortitudo Bologna took care of San Marion in the finals of the ‘Blue F Ball’ tournament by the final of 9-3 on Sunday afternoon. Bologna banged out 14 hit and a couple of three run frames, helping them to put San Marino out of reach of the ball game by the 4th. In the top of the first Bologna’s new foreign leftfielder, Nelson Perez welcomed himself to the league with a quick three run shot off of Chris Cooper, putting Bologna up 3-0. Picking up the tournament MVP was Alessandro Grimaudo. Grimaudo picked up 5 hit in two games between Heidehneim on Saturday and San Marino on Sunday. Finishing 3rd in the tournament behind San Marino was the club out of Germany, Heidehneim, thanks to a 3 to 1 victory over Parma who took 4th.

Next weekend all teams will be in action when the 2014 regular season gets underway on Friday and Saturday. Bologna will take on Godo in a home-away two game series, San Marino will take on newcomer Padova in a home-away two game series, and Parma will take on Nettuno 2 in a two game series in Parma.
