Team Italy falls to Argentina 12-9 to end their IBAF 15U World Cup, finishes in 10th Place
PARRAL, Mex – The Italian National Baseball Team will be returning to Italy from the International Baseball Federation 15 years and Under (15U) World Cup after a second round loss to Argentina.
The 15U Italian National Team posted an overall record of 3-6 against a very competitive field that included Cuba, Chinese Taipei and Mexico.
The medal match-ups are today, but Italy’s place has already been determined: 10th place out of 15.
Germany placed just behind Italy in the standing and posted the identical record as Italy, but Italy defeated Germany in head-to-head competition to arrive a position higher in the final standings.
Undefeated Cuba will take on Venezuela for the gold medal, while host Mexico and Chinese battle it out for the bronze.
