After winning three consecutive U12 European Baseball Championship titles from 2017-2021, Team Italy came up empty when losing last year’s bronze medal game against the Netherlands by a score of 12-5. The Italians are in Group A with host France, Great Britain and defending champion Germany. Bronze medalist the Netherlands are in Group B with 2022 silver medal winner Czech Republic, Lithuania and Austria. Although the Czechs lead all countries with seven gold medals, they have not won a Euro title since 2015.
The Team Italy Euros schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 6 pm (local time): France-Italy
Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 3:30 pm (local time): Great Britain-Italy
Friday, July 7, 2023 at 3:30 pm (local time): Italy-Germany
If Team Italy wins Group A, the Italians advance to the semifinals on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 3:30 pm (local time) and face the Group B second place finisher.
If Team Italy places second in Group A, the Italians advance to the semifinals on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 6 pm (local time) and play the Group B winner.
The winners of the semifinal games compete in the gold medal game on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 6 pm (local time), while the losers of the semifinal games battle for the bronze earlier in the day at 3:30 pm. Forza #Italia!
