Fortitudo Bologna came out with yet another two game sweep in 2014 when they took game 2 against Godo by the final of three to nothing on the backs of Panerati and De Santis. Panerati picked up the win with 6 innings of shutout ball before handing the ball over to De Santis for the save. Bologna did all of the scoring in the first off of Ribeiro, picking up 3 runs on 2 hits, a walk, and 2 errors. The two game sweeps now assures that Bologna will finish with the top spot in Division A, ahead of T&A San Marino.

Valerio Simone shined bright for T&A San Marino on Saturday evening in Padova, as the young lefty threw up an impressive 7 innings of shutout baseball before handing the ball off to the pen. Simone gave up a total of 2 hits on the evening, while fanning a total of 9 Padova batters. In the box for San Marino most of the damage came off the bat Vasquez and his 3 for 5, 1 run 2 RBI game. The win by San Marino puts them just about into round two of this year league, as long as the win in question against Rimini goes their way. Otherwise San Marino will have to take at least one of their next 4 games, which will officially close the door on Tommasin Padova in 2014.

Down south, Rimini looks to have ended any hopes of Nettuno having a miracle season after they were able to take two games from them. Game two went by the final of 9 to 1, with Rimini absolutely dominating on the mound and in the batters box. Jack Santora swung a hot stick for Rimini on Saturday evening, as he knocked out his first homer of the season, while Salazar was able to bang out his fourth. On the mound Rimini finally got a solid performance from their Italians, with Franklyn Torres picking up the win out of the pen with 2.1 innings of work. Rimini now betters their overall record to 10 and 5 on the season, with one game still in question, their protested game against San Marino.

In Parma, Lino’s Coffee Parma had no problem disposing of Nettuno2 on Saturday thanks to yet another strong performance by Nicolas Giovanelli. The final in this one was tight, however Parma was able to pick up 2 runs between the 7th and 8th to take the game by the final of 2 to 0. Suffering the loss for Nettuno2 was Andrea Pizziconi, with the win going to Giovanelli. With the ‘W’ Parma moves to 10 and 6 on the season, just a half game back of Rimini at the moment, as they are still waiting the results of their protested game.
