After four weeks of play in the Italian Softball League the league’s hierarchies are beginning to be established

After four weeks of play in the Italian Softball League the league’s hierarchies are beginning to be established. In Division A thanks to the split by Rhibo La Loggia and Bollate, Caronno now moves into second place after their sweep of Nuoro. In Division B, Bussolengo takes a two game lead over the rest of the division after taking two from Collecchio on Saturday afternoon and evening. With the sweep of Collecchio, Fiorini Forlì now moves into second place in the division, moving a full game ahead of Labadini in the standings, while staying two games back of Bussolengo for that top spot.

In the series between Collecchio and Bussolengo, it was Bussolengo that flexed their muscles, thus proving their Alfa status in the division. Game one of the two game set was taken by the final of 9 to 3, while game two went by the score of 3-2 with Lynn Kimberly Bruins out lasting Maddie Holub in a pitchers duel that featured a combined 28 strikeouts.

Thanks to the sweep of Collecchio, Fiorini Forlì was able to move into second place all by themselves with their sweep over Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana. In Game 1 Forlì was just way too much for Unione Fermana to handle, as Forlì was able to out score their opponent by the final of 21 to 2. In game two of the double header Forlì tacked up another 10 runs on the scoreboard over Unione Fermana in a 10 to 4 win.

Finally in Division B it was Caserta that came out over Old Parma Taurus with a two game sweep. The final in game 1 was 3-2, while in game 2 Caserta put up 5 runs to Parma’s 0.

In Division A the big matchup between Rhibo La Loggia and Bollate on Friday produced a split in what proved to be a very evenly match two game series. Game one went to La Loggia by the final of 7-0, while game two went to Bollate in a close 2 to nothing pitchers duel.

On Saturday the Rheavendors Carnno were able to take over control of the second spot in the division with their sweep of the double header over Banco di Sardegna Nuoro. Game one finished 3-1 while game was taken 8 to 2.

Finally Legnano was able to pick up their first win of the season with a game one 3-2 victory over the Stars Staranzano.  In game two however the Starts were able to even the series thanks to a 7 to 4 win. Staranzano moves to 3 and 3 on the year, while Legnano improves to 1 and 5.
