Padova picks Ronald Uviedo to pair with Acosta for the foreigner game

Ronald Uviedo will be the second of Tommasin Padova’s two foreigner pitchers in 2014. The 27 year old Ronald Javier Acevedo Uviedo is a right-handed arm that comes with his fair share of experience in professional baseball both State Side, and in the Venezuelan Winter League. Uviedo began his pro-career back in 2005 with the Seattle Mariners. A year later he moved to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, making it as high as AA in 2010. At the end of the 2010 season Uviedo signed with the Toronto Blue Jays organization, where in 2011 and 2012 he pitched for their AAA club in Las Vegas, Nevada, mainly in a relief role (27 appearances, 44.0 innings pitched, 1 win, 0 losses, 48 strikeouts, and a 4.50 ERA).  This winter Uviedo wore the colors of Leones di Caracas in the Venezuelan Winter League.
