Having defeated Spain in the best-of-three series (6-3, 7-8 and 1-0) before losing two of three matches against the Netherlands (5-4, 2-8, 11-5) the day prior, Team Italy was beaten twice (7-1 and 16-0) by France on the final day of Baseball5 European Championship in Lithuania to register a sixth-place finish in the international competition.

Team Italy Baseball5 manager Maurizio Balla said, “The whole experience was certainly positive, considering that we were the second youngest team in the tournament. We received many compliments from our opponents. The Italian national Baseball5 team will meet again early next year with the addition of players who will participate in the U17 Baseball5 European Championship in France in November 2024.
