Hailing from Bologna, Italy, Emilia Romagna Little League will compete in the 75th Anniversary of the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 17-28, 2022. Coincidently, the Emilia Romagna Little League softball squad earned the right to represent the Europe-Africa region at the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina from August 9-16, 2022.
After suffering a 1-0 shutout to South Czech Republic Little League on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, Emilia Romagna Little League turned the tables on the Czechs with a 4-1 victory in the Little League Baseball Europe-Africa Region Tournament Championship final in Moergestel, the Netherlands on Friday, July 22, 2022.
2022 Little League Baseball Europe-Africa Region Tournament Results
With an overall 4-1 record during the 2022 tourney, Emilia Romagna Little League has represented Italy five of the country's six appearances in the Little League Baseball World Series. In fact, Emilia Romagna Little League has won all but one of the Europe-Africa Region Tournament Championships since 2016. In its most recent 2019 Little League Baseball World Series appearance, the Emilia Romagna Little League team featured four players under 12 years old, including two ten-year-old players, who were the youngest participants in the entire tournament.
Emilia Romagna Little League will plays its first game of the 2022 Little League Baseball World Series against the Asia-Pacific Region winners, Fu-Lin Little League from Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, at Williamsport's Volunteer Stadium on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 1 pm (ET). Forza #Italia!
