Italian Baseball League well represented at 2012 CEB European Cup qualifiers

The 2012 CEB European Cup qualifiers are underway in Rotterdam and San Marino.  Nettuno was cast into the Rotterdam pool, while Bologna and San Marino were able to remain close to home by being in the San Marino pool.

Nettuno dropped their opening game in a heavy fashion, 11-2, last night to Barcelona.  Nettuno bounced back this morning to tame France’s Rouen Huskies, 4-2.

Nettuno will be pitted against Czech’s Brno tomorrow.

Both Bologna and San Marino were successful in their openers last night.

Bologna edged past Amsterdam 4-3 in a game that required ten frames.

San Marino made quick work of Belgium’s Hoboken Pioneers, turning off the lights after only eight innings with a 13-2 throw in the towel victory.

San Marino and Bologna will face off in an all IBL battle tonight in a Thursday night feature match-up.
