Team U15 softball squad shows promise at "Città di Grosseto" Tournament

Broken into two groups, Team Italy White and Team Italy Blue, the Azzurrine placed second and fifth respectively in the "Città di Grosseto" U19 Softball Tourney

During the three days in Tuscany at the  "Città di Grosseto" U19 Softball Tournament from August 25-27, 2023, the Team Italy U15 softball squad fared well under the guidance and direction of manager Maristella Perizzolo in preparation for the U15 Softball World Cup in Tokyo, Japan from October 21-29, 2023..

The Azzurrine, divided into two groups–Team Italy White and Team Italy Blue, finished the tournament in second and fifth place respectively.

Team Italy White settled for silver after a 9-6 extra inning loss to the U18 Bollate softball squad, while Team Italia Blue defeated La Loggia 3-2 to place fifth in the tourney. Host BSC Grosseto secured bronze and Avigliana placed fourth. Three U18 Bollate players also collected individual achievement awards: Chiara Di Lauro was voted Best Pitcher, Emma Silva was selected Best Hitter and Silvia Franzoni was awarded  "Città di Grosseto" Most Valuable Player.

The awards were distributed to the teams and players by the FIBS Federal Councilor Aldo Peronaci, FIBS Regional President Simona Nava, BSC Grosseto Vice President Roberto Piccioli and BSC Grosseto manager Stefano Cappuccini.
