Piazza will lead the Azzurri at Honkbalweek Haarlem on the diamonds of Pim

The 31st edition of Honkbalweek Haarlem also features host Kingdom of the Netherlands, defending Euro champion Spain, Japan, USA and Chinese Taipei. Team Italy plans to showcase the Club Italia LA28 prospects along with seasoned Azzurri veterans. The Italians will be competing in the international competition for the third consecutive time after participating in the 2018 and 2022 editions.
In the last two appearances, the Azzurri have recorded four victories - against Cuba (in 2018 and 2022), Germany (in 2018) and Curacao (in 2022) - out of thirteen games. The losses in the playoff against the Netherlands and Cuba closed the path to fifth place in 2018, while two years ago, despite two wins and a fifth place in the first round, Team Italy lost to Cuba in the final for fifth place and finished the tournament in sixth place.
