The Italian Softball League will be hitting the diamond today, Saturday the 17th in its second weekend of the second half of the regular season. In Division A everything is still wide open, with the defending champs, Rhibo La Loggia on top at the moment and looking to widen their gap between them and the rest of the bunch. To do so they are going to have to put on a good performance against Legnano in Legnano. The matchup between the Rhevendors Caronno and Staranzano looks to be an important one, while Bollate looks to have the upper hand when they take on Nuoro in Sardegna.

In Division B Unione Fermana is still winless on the season, and today’s double dip doesn’t seem to be in their favor with Labadini Collecchio on the schedule, a team that has surprised the rest of the league with their spectacular first half to the 2014 season. Elsewhere in the division, Fiorini Forlí will be heading south to take on the girls of Caserta for two games. Forlí looks to be the stronger team on paper, but its would be silly of them to take Caserta lightly, a team that seems to have turned things around over the last couple of weeks of play. Lastly, the undefeated Bussolengo ladies will be on the road in Parma for two games on Saturday. Bussolengo looks to be a sure in for this year’s playoffs, however they are also looking to keep their stride, and finish strong. Look for them keep it rolling, to keep their foot on the petal, and not to take these two games lightly against one of the division’s bottom dwellers.
