Friday the 25th of April kicks off the first of four weeks of Interleague Play in the Italian Baseball League where Division A will take on Division B. On Friday evening all eyes will be on the results out of Rimini when the Pirates welcome in UnipolSai Bologna for two of what just may be a preview of the 2014 IBL playoffs. The Pirates will still be without the likes of Roberto Corradini, who is expected to miss at least the next two weeks of play with a shoulder injury. Going for Rimini on Friday evening in game one should be the foreigner, Ekstroem, while Sandy Patrone will most likely get the call in game two. On the other side of the diamond manager Nanni will probably be sending Williamson to the bump to counter against Ekstroem, while in the Italian game look for Panerati and Riccardo De Santis to both see innings.

Also of great interest will be the matchup of Lino’s Coffee Parma and T&A San Marino. Parma should be going with the duo of Sanchez and Yepez in game 1, while San Marino will most likely counter with Guerra and Cubilan. In game two on Saturday evening Parma’s manager, Munoz, looks to be leaning towards to Gradali to get the ball to start the game. On the other side of the ball San Marino’s manager, Binidi, should hand the ball to Valerio Simone. This is a big weekend for both clubs, Parma will be looking to hang in Division B with both Nettuno and Rimini, while in Division A, San Marino is in hopes of turning around their very slow 2 and 4 start to this year 2014 campaign. Both Ramos and Albanese will have to sit game one out, serving a one game suspension for T&A.

In Godo, the Knights will welcome in Nettuno for two games on Friday and Saturday. Both teams have gotten off to great starts thus far, as Nettuno is currently sitting at a 4 and 2 record, in a tie at the top of Division B with Rimini, while Godo is at a .500 mark and in second in Division A. Galeotti will be getting the ball in game one for Godo, while duo of Calero and Ribeiro should go in game 2. On the other side of the ball Nettuno will counter with the likes of Lorenzo and Yuri Morellini.

Up in Padova look for the matchup between Tommasin Padova and Nettuno2 to be an evenly matched series, with both teams hoping to bounce back from difficult weekends just a week ago. Going for Padova in game one will be the right-handed Venezuelan, Uviedo, as he pairs up with Acosta who should cover him out of the pen. In Game 2, manager Smith is still undecided between Medina, Crepaldi and Faccini. On Nettuno2’s side of the ball look for Norberto Gonzalez and Andrea Pizziconi to be named as the two starters, however their order is yet to be determined.
