Unipol Bologna continues to make waves with their offseason acquisitions, their most recent pickup, Venezuelan catcher, Guillermo Rodriguez. Rodriguez (1978) comes with a fully packed resume, which includes 48 games played at the Major League level between the San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, and the Detroit Tigers. The veteran catcher will be expected to split time with Marco Sabbatani behind the plate and most likely in the DH roll as well. In 15 professional seasons Guillermo Rodriguez hit an overall .239 between the majors (major league numbes: .239 average with 22 hits, 6 doubles, and 1 homerun) and minors (minor league numbers: 873 games played, .253 average with 713 hits, 159 doubles, 16 triples, and 72 homeruns).
