The Team Italy U13 softball squad dominated the 2023 European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy (EMRYT) in Collecchio by scoring 99 runs and allowing only 13 runs in seven games. In the EMRYT final against Israel, Team Italy winning pitcher Sabrina Bottazzi surrendered just one run on two hits with nine strikeouts and one walk in the 9-1 victory.
The Italian offense was fueled by catcher Giorgia Colino, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Leadoff hitter Alessandra Metta doubled and scored once. Cleanup hitter Sabrina Bottazzi was a perfect 1-for-1 with two walks, two RBI and one run scored.. Rebecca Soldi walked twice and crossed the plate three times. Cloe Guzzon collected two hits and one RBI. Viola Masini also contributed with her one hit, walk, RBI and one run scored.
