Team Italy will be among fifteen national teams competing at the Elite Baseball5 European Championship in Druskininkai, Lithuania from November 7-11, 2023. The young and promising Italian players selected range in age from 15-18. Team Italy is part of Group B with Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine.
The following players will represent Team Italy in the Elite Baseball5 European Championship: Cristian Agresta (Rho Baseball), Irene Bellusci (Acli Rivello/Cali Roma Girls), Beatrice Deregibus (Aosta Bugs), Alessandro Micheli (Pesaro B.C.), Giulia Moretto (White Tigers/Nuove Pantere Lucca), Chiara Pecorelli (Acli Rivello/Cali Roma Girls), Filippo Sabatini (Lions Baseball Nettuno) and Riccardo Sana (Aosta Bugs).
Team Italy Baseball5 manager Maurizio Balla will be assisted by coach Giovanni Pecorelli and delegation manager Isabella Dalbesio.
Prior to departing for Lithuania, the eight players along with four reserves will join the Team Italy Baseball5 staff along with coach Simone Perazzini for a final workout in Cambiano (Torino) on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. The following four reserves at home will participate in this last day of training: Matteo Ariaudo (Skatch), Giada Cardani (Porta Mortara B.S. Novara/Milano Baseball 1946), Beatrice Rossi (Treviso Baseball Soft & Furious/Thunders Dragons S.B. Castellana ) and Leonardo Turo (Aosta Bugs).
