Team Italy roster revised again for U23 European Baseball Championship

Team Italy makes its U23 European Baseball Championship debut against France in Wiener Neustadt, Austria on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 10 am (local time). With the recent injuries to pitchers Diego Gergolet and Luca Capellano, Azzurri manager Alberto D'Auria has revised the U23 European Baseball Championship roster with the addition of utility player Juan Carlos Infante Jr. and pitcher Edoardo Zingarelli.

Team Italy manager Alberto D'Auria has revealed the names of the twenty players competing at the U23 European Baseball Championship in Wiener Neustadt and Schwechat, Austria from August 8-12, 2023. The Italian skipper said, “We are playing against an extremely competitive group and are determined to improve upon our bronze medal finish in Verona in 2021. With players like Gabriele Angioi, Andres Annunziata ,Niccolò Cinelli, Tommaso Giarola, Daniel Monti and Lorenzo Morresi, we expect offensive production.” 

Shortstop Vince Cimini, a recent graduate from Boston College, makes his Azzurri debut at the U23 European Baseball Championship in hopes of making the elite squad roster next month at the European Baseball Championship in Czech Republic. 

Prior to the start of the U23 European Baseball Championship, the Team Italy baseball squad will be hosted at the Italian Embassy in Vienna by Ambassador Stefano Beltrame on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 2 pm.
