After making an appearance at CON-X 2024, the Italian Baseball and Softball Convention, from January 26-28. 2024 at the Palacongressi in Rimini, San Diego Padres and Team Italy catcher Brett Sullivan will travel to Collecchio Baseball Softball’s Giannino Zinelli complex on Monday afternoon, January 29, 2024 and hold a catcher’s clinic.
Team Italy coaching coordinator Gianguido Poma has invited fifteen catchers from the Northwest region of Italy to work with Brett Sullivan and Azzurri captain Alberto Mineo in Collecchio. Every player will be accompanied by his coach so that they will be able to work together long after the clinic.
Team Italy manager and National Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza created ‘Mission Classic’ as a vehicle in developing the pool of Italian talent and both Sullivan and Mineo have been strong supporters of this ongoing initiative in light of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
