Team Italy prepares for Baseball5 Elite European Championship in Lithuania

After two Italian U18 and U17 Baseball5 squads placed second (Team Italy Blue) and fourth (Team Italy Red) behind Heart of the Alps trophy winner Vilnius (Lithuania) and third-place finisher Lyon (France) in Aosta on October 1, 2023, Team Italy Baseball5 manager Maurizio Balla has called one final workout on Sunday, October 15, 2023 to determine his roster for the upcoming Elite European Championship in Lithuania from November 7-11, 2023

At the conclusion of the Heart of the Alps Baseball5 tourney during which twelve games were played in the span of 36 hours, Team Italy manager Maurizio Balla made an assessment of what he saw at Piazzale Tzambarlet-Corso Lancieri in Aosta. The Italian skipper said. “We have worked hard, but it is not an easy situation. To be competitive at the senior elite level,  we must work even harder and improve our offensive and defensive mechanics. I have called the group of eight men and six women to meet again on Sunday, October 15th so that I can select the best players for the Elite European Championship with greater certainty.” The Baseball5 Elite European Championship takes place in Lithuania from November 7-11, 2023.

The following  men and women participated in the Heart of the Alps Baseball5 tournament in Aosta: Cristian Agresta (Rho Baseball), Matteo Ariaudo (Skatch), Irene Bellusci (Acli Rivello/Cali Roma Girls), Cristiano Bisicchia (Dolphins Anzio Baseball), Giada Cardani (Porta Mortara B.S. Novara/Milano Baseball 1946), Iacopo Cavedon (Rimini 86/Junior Rimini B.S.), Beatrice Deregibus (Aosta Bugs), Filippo Favaro (Baseball Ponzano Veneto), Alessandro Micheli (Pesaro B.C.), Giulia Moretto (White Tigers/Nuove Pantere Lucca), Giada Pavone (Atoms Softball Club Chieti), Chiara Pecorelli (Acli Rivello/Cali Roma Girls), Beatrice Rossi (Treviso Baseball Soft & Furious/Thunders Dragons S.B. Castellana),  Riccardo Sana (Aosta Bugs), and Leonardo Turo (Aosta Bugs).

Team Italy Baseball5 manager Maurizio Balla was assisted by coaches Simone Perazzini and Paolo Vannini.
