Wins for Bologna, Parma, San Marino and Padova

Bologna was able to keep their foot on the gas down in Nettuno as they walked away with a close one to nothing victory in game one

Bologna was able to keep their foot on the gas down in Nettuno as they walked away with a close one to nothing victory in game one. Parma also took a close one against Godo by the final of 2-1, while in the other two series both San Marino and Padova won big.

UnipolSai Bologna got by Nettuno on Friday evening in Nettuno by the final of one to nothing. Williamson was lights out for Bologna once again going 7 strong where he allowed only two hits and no runs, while racking up a total of 9 strikeouts. Raul Rivero came on for the two inning save. On the offensive side of the ball Alessandro Vaglio went 2 for 3, including an RBI single to right field in the 6th that drove in the games only run. The two will be back in action tonight in Nettuno at 8:30 pm.

 

Lino’s Coffee Parma came up with a ‘BIG’ 2 to 1 victory on Friday evening in Godo over the Knights. Getting the surprise start for Parma was Nicolas Giovanelli who did more then his job with 5.2 solid innings of work on the bump. Yomel Rivera came on for an impressive 3.1 inning save. In the box Renato Imperiali went 2 for 3, tying the game in the 2nd with a single to right and scoring the games would be winning run in the 5th. The two clubs will be back at it at 8:30 pm this evening in Godo.

In Padova, Tommasin put a hurting on Rimini with a 13 to 3, 7 inning win on Friday evening. On the mound for Padova the duo of Uviedo and Acosta absolutely dominated the bats of the normally heavy hitting Rimini offense. In the box for Tommasin it was once again Nick Nosti that wrecked havoc with a 2 for 3, 4 RBI, and 3 run game, while both Chapelli and Pestana also picked up 2 hits apiece. Game two of the series will take place in Padova again tonight at 8:30

 

In San Marino T&A got a much needed spectacular performance out of their young lefty, Valerio Simone, on Friday night against Nettuno2. Simone was perfect through 5 innings before handing the ball over to the bullpen in the 6th. Also coming alive for San Marino was their offense, as they busted out for a total of 11 runs off of 16 hits and 4 walks. Game two of this two game set will get underway at 8:30 this evening in San Marino, but with Nettuno2 as the home team.
