UnipolSai Bologna fell for the second consecutive night to T&A San Marino on Saturday evening by the final of 7 to 6. The back-to-back losses suffered by Bologna marked the first time this season that they have been swept in a two game series. Picking up the win for T&A San Marino on the bump was Valerio Simone with 5 innings pitched where he gave up 3 runs off of 6 hits and a walk. In the third it looked as if Simone’s outing was going to be a quick one after allowing 3 runs in the 2nd, however the young lefty settled down and was able to pitch past the 5th for the ‘W’. On the offensive side of the ball Joe Mazzuca picked up 2 hits for San Marino, scored 2 runs, and drove in 3. Reginato also had a 2 hit evening with 1 run scored and 2 RBI’s. Luca Martignoni came on for the 2 inning save. These two clubs will now both move onto the second round of the IBL, but wont face off again until the first week of July, at which time they will be locked up for 6 games straight.

Tommasin Padova concluded their regular season with a 12 to 4 victory over the Godo Knights on Saturday evening. Padova was able to put on an offensive display off of Godo’s Italian mound, of which included three homers, one by Sciacca in the first, and back-to-back long balls off the bats of Pestana and Chapelli in the eighth. Picking up the win for Padova was Uviedo, while Casalini suffered the loss for the Knights.

Nettuno2 finished their season with an impressive 2 to 1 win over Rimini down in Nettuno. Rimini got on the board first in this one when Bertagnon drove in Gomez from third to give the Pirates the one to nothing lead. However in the 3rd Nettuno2 came back with two runs of their own off of Corradini on an RBI groundout by Ghurong, and an RBI single off the bat of Davenport that plated Martone. That would be it for the scoring, with both teams mounds setting down to put up zero’s the rest of the way. Picking up the win for Nettuno2 was Paolo Taschini, while the save went to Roberto Rodo. Suffering the loss for Rimini was Roberto Corradini. Next week Rimini will be locked up in a three game series against T&A San Marino in the second round of the IBL, while Nettuno2 will be heading to the Italian Cup Tournament, along with Nettuno, Padova, and Godo.

Finally in Parma, Lino’s Coffee Parma took their final game of the regular season against Nettuno in extras when Renato Imperiali smacked a 2 RBI line drive seed over the head of the centerfielder Retrosi. The win by Parma was picked up by Niccoló Loardi with his 3.2 innings of work out of the pen in relief of Giovanelli and Rivera. Both Desimoni and Imperiali picked up two hits apiece for Parma, with Desimoni driving in 1, and Imperiali 2. Next weekend Parma will be taking on Bologna in a three game series to kick of the second round of the IBL.
