Award winners revealed at CON-X 2024
Prior to the memorable speech delivered by Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (FIBS) President Andrea Marcon at CON-X 2024 at the Palacongressi in Rimini on Saturday, January 27, 2024, the National Classifiers Committee (CNC), National Umpires Committee (CNA) and National Technical Committee (CNT) revealed the award winners of the 2023 season

FIBS President Andrea Marcon congratulated the best scorekeeper, umpires and coaches in Italy during 2023 at CON-X 2024, the annual Italian Baseball and Softball Convention. CNC President Anna Maria Paini handed out the first award to scorekeeper Anita Manca.

CNA President Gianluca Magnani gave softball umpire Sabrina Fabrizi and baseball umpire Michele De Notta their respective awards. In addition, Fabrizio Fabrizia, an international umpire who participated in two World Baseball Classics (2017, 2023), a Premier 12 (2015) and an edition of the Olympic Games (2020), received the lifetime achievement award. 

National Technical Committee President Fabio Borselli presented the 2023 Volfango Valbonesi awards to Elisabetta Morresi (softball) and Ennio Paganelli (baseball). The award for best softball coach went to Maristella Perizzolo, head coach of the Avigliana Rebels and the Team Italy U15 squad. Runner-up was Lorena Cerami, coach of Porta Mortara.

The award for best baseball coach was given to Alberto Furlani,  the manager of the Ronchi dei Legionari New Black Panthers, who received 96 votes. Runner-up was Cagliari’s Walter Angioi, who came second with 71 votes.

The Baseball for the Blind award went to Marco Corazza, coach of the Roma All Blinds and 2023 European champion Team Italy.
