The third week of play in the Italian Softball League

Today kicks off the third weekend of the Italian Softball League, and weather permitting it should be a good one. With that said one of the six series that are on today’s schedule (Caronno and Legnano) has already been postponed due to heavy rain in the area. The rest of the division should be in play if the weather holds. The division leading 3 and 1 Bollate club heading to Staranzano to take on the 1 and 1 Stars. If Bollate is able to walk away with the series sweep the club out of Lombardia will be sitting in a pretty position early on in this 2014 season. Game one is set for 5:00 pm while game two is scheduled for 30 minutes after the final out of game one. The only other matchup that is on tap for today the 19th is that between the 3 and 1 Rhinbo Softball La Loggia and the 1 and 1 Banco di Sardegna Nuoro. This series will take place in Sardegna with game one on the schedule for 12:00 pm and game two 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

In Division B the things look to be a little bit more interesting as 2 of the three clubs that are currently sitting with a perfect 4 and 0 record will be facing off in this third week of the ISL. In this case, if any team is to have the upper hand on the day it just may be the home team Bussolengo over the visiting Fiorini Forlí. Game one will get underway at 6:00 pm and game two at 8:30 pm. Elsewhere in the division the 4 and 0 Labadini Collecchio will head across town in hopes of picking on the newcomer to the league, Old Parma Taurus, a club that is still looking for their first victory on the season. A series sweep for Collecchio may just mean that one of the bottom dwellers from a year ago could be sitting at the top of the division by themselves here in 2014. Game on is set for 4:00 pm and game two for 30 minutes after the end of game one. Finally on this Saturday before Easter Unione Fermana will be welcoming in Caserta for two with game one scheduled for 6:00 pm and game two for 8:30 pm. Both clubs are still in search of their first win after being swept in the first two weekends.
