It was a historic evening in Prague on Saturday as the under 18 Italian National team recorded their 13 overall European Championship thanks to a 9-3 victory over the Czech Republic. 13 seemed to be a lucky number for the Italians in the final game of this international tournament.. With number 13 on the mound (Silvestri) the Italians took home their 13 overall European title thanks to a 13 strikeout performance. Congratulations goes out to the whole team who conquered adversity on their long road to the title, and to the whole coaching staff that prepared these young athletes for victory.

With a strong Samuel Silvestri on the bump, team Italy was able to triumph over the European continent once again when they took home a 9-3 victory in the final game of the Under 18 European Championship on Saturday evening against the Czech Republic in Prague. The Italians put two on the board right off the bat in the top of the 1st, but when the Czech team came to bat they made it seem as if it was going to be a short game for the starter, Silvestri, after coming up with three runs of their own on 1 hit, 2 walks and an error. Silvestri went onto settle down after his rocky first by pitching into the 7th (2 hits, 3 runs 2 earned runs, 5 walks, 13 strikeouts) and the Italians offense was able to keep on swinging some hot bats, scoring twice in the 3rd and 4th then again once in the 7th. 9 runs on 12 hits were more then enough for the Under 18 Italians to be able to host the cup for the 13th time.
