Taking over for the late and great Enrico Obletter, new Team Italy women’s softball manager Federico Pizzolini along with Vice President Roberta Soldi are making big strides in preparing the powerful Azzurre squad for the upcoming in late June and in July. One huge step forward is this month’s Florida Spring Training, which will include four exhibition games against USA in Vero Beach from April 15-21, 2021 and a pair of doubleheaders against Canada in Fort Myers from April 25-26, 2021.
The Team Italy women’s softball squad has prepared for these friendly games after extensive training in Pescara and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Florida Spring Training will provide a snapshot of two of its foes in Japan. The first challenge against USA will take place at the in Vero Beach on April 15, 2021 at 5 pm (Eastern Time), and the remaining three games will be played every other day through April 21, 2021. Then the Azzurre will travel to the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers, where Canada will host two doubleheaders on April 25 and 26 with games at 11 am and 1:30 pm (Eastern Time).
Team Italy manager Federico Pizzolini will be assisted by coaches Giovanna Palermi, Julio La Rosa Zequeira, and Giulio Brusa. Physiotherapists Elio Paolini and Ulisse Hernandez, athletic trainer Francesca Ambrouso, team physician Dr. Alessandro Butta, and delegation manager Claudia Venturini will also lend their support.
