Junior Guerra, a 29-year-old Venezuelan, picked up by T&A San Marino to fill the role the starting foreign pitcher.

The defending Italian Baseball League Champs, made the signing of Guerra official just a few days after the right hander turned 29 on the 16th of January. Guerra is characterized as having a live arm with a heavy ball, and promising stats. The righty is fairly new to the mound, having made the move from behind the plate for the first time back in 2006, where with 3 different clubs between ‘Rookie’ and ‘A’ ball, Guerra racked up his first 28.2 innings on the bump, posting a 6.59 ERA. In 2008 Junior Guerra began to feel comfortable in his new role as he moved through the ranks between Rookie, low A, A, and high A, all while supporting a deflated 2.12 ERA. In 2010 Guerra made his way to Spain, where he pitched for Sant Boi, accumulating 11 wins to 1 loss and a 0.89 ERA in 17 games pitched (122 K’s in 91 IP), as he helped lead Sant Boi to the Spanish league title.

In 2011 Guerra returned to the US, pitching for the Wichita Wingnuts (Independent Ball), where he posted 9 wins to only 3 losses, with 103 strikeouts in128.2 innings pitched, and a 3.57 ERA. In 2012 Guerra made a stop in the Mexican League (AAA) with Yucatan, before heading back to Wichita in 2013 (9 wins, 4 losses, 3.30 ERA, 126 strikeouts, 122 innings pitched). This winter Venezuelan righty finds himself at home with the Tiburones de La Guaira, in the Venezuelan Winter League.
