The first series of on-field activities in Italy will be carried out by Steel Sports coaches along with the Team Italy U12 baseball squad. It provides the opportunity to present the philosophy of the late and great Tommy Lasorda to the game and its teaching: 'Kids First', the kids first of all, to a larger number of coaches, boys and girls and their families.
Team Italy manager Mike Piazza, whom Lasorda took under his wing and eventually made into a Dodger legend, and Steel Sports coaches Steve Jones, Keith Osik and Mike LaBella will stop at Florence’s 'Pierpaolo Vita' Stadium at Campo di Marte, viale Manfredo fanti 18, on April 26, 2024 for a day on the diamond. The event is open to all boys and girls competing between the U12 and U15 baseball and softball levels.

Participation, completely free, is reserved for boys and girls born from 2009 onwards, in good standing with the 2024 membership, for whom the parents (or those exercising parental authority) have duly completed, electronically signed and sent, no later than 1 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024, the form available at the link below, accompanied by the valid medical certificate of competitive fitness.

According to the Steel Sports methodology, parents are a fundamental element in creating a welcoming and stimulating environment, aimed at developing serene, positive and aware athletes and individuals, mothers and fathers are therefore invited to assist, participate and wear comfortable clothing, preparing for a fun day to spend together with their kids and their coaches, between grass and clay.
