Rimini sweeps in Grosseto, San Marino takes down Godo, Parma continues to impress with an 11 inning win over Bologna

Rimini had little trouble with Grosseto on Friday afternoon in game one coming out on top by the final score of five to nothing

Rimini had little trouble with Grosseto on Friday afternoon in game one coming out on top by the final score of five to nothing. Bazardo was practically untouchable in this one, giving up only one hit and two base runners in 7 innings of work on the hill. Romero, Gomez and Bertagnon all had two hits apiece.

Game two was no different story for Chris Catanoso’s club as they took the match 7 to 1. It was Toshiba Enegan Grosseto 21st loss in a row, an alarming number for the club new to the IBL. Tommaso Cherubini picked up the win in this one for Rimini, while it was Santora, Chiarini, Romero, and Gomez who where the difference with the bat. Marquez suffered the loss for Grosseto.

T&A San Marino took down the Godo Knights on Friday evening 9-0 thanks to 13 hits and 6 errors committed by the Godo defense. The win was an important one for T&A, as they are hoping to keep pace with both Nettuno and Parma in the race to the postseason. San Marino got it started early in this one when they were able to push across 4 runs with 2 outs thanks to a long ball off the bat of Ramos (2 run homer) and a two run single by Reginato. T&A made it a 7 inning game later on in this one when Vasquez added a three run homer of his own, which was later toped off with a solo shot by Reginato. Game two of the series will take place in San Marino this evening at 20:30.

Parma continued their impressive run at the postseason when they were able to pick up a much needed extra inning win over a very tough Unipol Bologna club on Friday night on the road. The game featured both foreigners on the mound (Sanchez for Parma and Rivero for Bologna) and was without a doubt a pitchers duel till the end. Sanchez finished with 6 innings of 1 run ball for Parma before being relieved Tabata in the 7th who went on to finish off this extra inning affair and pick up the victory. In the top of the 10th it was De Simoni and Marval who came through for Munoz’s club as they went onto the 5-2 victory.
