Rhibo and Bussolengo assured a spot in the postseason

Rhibo La Loggia claims their spot in the semis out of Division A thanks to a single win over Bollate on Saturday evening. Now heading into the last week of play in the ISL look for Bollate to do their best in holding off the likes of the Stars of Staranzano for that second semifinals bid out of Division A in the ISL.

  

In the big matchup of the week out of Division A, we saw a Bollate and Rhibo La Loggia walk away with a win apiece. Bollate took game one of the series by the final of three to nothing on the back of Greta Cecchetti and her four hit, 14 strikeout performance. Bollate picked up 3 runs in the 3rd off of Elisa Brandino. Lara Cecchetti went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s for Bollate.

In game two La Loggia got their redemption with an 8 to 1 victory thanks to some timely hitting, of which included a two run inside the park homer off the bat of Lindsey Beisser, who also picked up the win with 6 innings of 1 run ball. 

  

In Nuoro, both the Banco di Sardegna and the Rheavendors Caronno walked away with a win apiece on Saturday afternoon and evening. Game one went the way of Nuoro by the final of 5 to 2, while game two went to the Caronno Rheavendors by the inflated final of 13 to 12.

Finally out of Division A, the Stars of Staranzano were able to stay on the tail of Bollate with a series split against Legnano on Saturday afternoon. The Stars dropped game one of the two get set by the final of 8 to 2, but were able to take game two 5 to 1. Heading into next weeks last weekend of play, the Stars will have to hope that Caronno will give Bollate some big problems on the diamond, while they will have to try to take two from Rhibo.. which is not an easy task to say the least.

  

In Division B Bussolengo kept their perfect mark with after they were able to walk away with two from Labadini Collechio, which opened the door for both the now second place Forlí girls and Caserta. Next week will be an intense one of the diamond in Division A with three teams racing for that second playoff bid.

  

Specchiasol Bussolengo was able to stay perfect against Labadini Collecchio on Saturday after they took both games one and two on their home turf. Game one went by the way of 10 to 3 with they game ending in the 6th after Priscilla Brandi knocked a grand slam out of the park. Picking up the win for Bussolengo was Alice Ronchetti with 6 innings of 7 hit, 3 run ball.

Game two of this two game set turned out to be quite the pitchers dual with the game’s only run coming in the first when Alexis Bennet got to Holub with a solo shot. From there on out both Kimberly Bruins (winning pitcher) and Madison Holub dominated for their clubs.

  

Fiorini Forlí was able to take over the second spot in Division B after they swept Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana on Saturday afternoon and evening. Forlí now holds a one game lead over both Collecchio and Caserta (Caserta has four games to make up while Forlí two). Game one of this two game set went by the final of 8 to 1 while game two was taken 5 to 2. Next weekend Forlí will head to Collecchio for two in what will without a doubt be a good one!

  

Finally Caserta was able to climb back in the playoff race in a big way with two huge wins over Taurus Parma on Saturday afternoon and evening in Parma. Game one went by the final of 9 to 2 with Susanna Mancini going the complete game for the victory. In game two the scoring turned out to be a little less, however the results were the same as Caserta took the game by the final of 4 to 2, with the win going to Anisley Lopez.
