The Province of Lucca, the Province of Torino, the Town Grosseto, the Town Milano, the School Office of Lombardia, the school Office of Piemonte and the , all places selected to screen the movie 42, the movie about Jackie Robinson and the color barrier that he helped break down with courage and determination. Why the movie 42? Well the answer is easy.. It displays a strong message about antiracism, exactly what this month represents. On the 21st of March, marks the official day that the whole world calls for the elimination of racism. The day aims of remind people of racial discrimination’s negative consequences. The day also encourages people to remember their obligation and determination to combat racial discrimination.

This year on the 21st of March the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation is joining the fight to combat racial discrimination with a project nicknamed ‘42’. The project is going to bring the world-renowned film 42 to Italy for the first, a film that tells of story of an individual (Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball) combating the injustices of racism in order to provide future generations with greater hope.

Project 42, which is being coordinated by the Commission of Youth Sport and the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation, in cooperation with Warner Brothers Entertainment is going to be making stops in Grosseto (March 13, the Space), Lucca (20 March, Modern Cinema), Milan (21 March Cinema Coliseum) and Turin (March 21, Cinema Massimo), Reggio Emilia (March 28, Eden Cinema Puianello), Bolzano (April 1, IISS Galileo Galilei), Rome (May 5).
