On March 21st, the Sports Museum of Turino opened a temporary exhibit titled Baseball Emotions. The Emotions of the Diamond by Roberto Buganè is now officially on display at the museum thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) with the backing of the Italian Society of Sport History (SISS). The exhibit offers a look back at the history of the sport in Italy as well as tells the very story of the events that led to the first official game of the Italian National team, which was held back on the 31st of August in 1952 at the Flaminio stadium in Rome, Italy. The story is told through a number of objects, posters, official documents and media on display in the exhibit.

The inauguration of the Baseball Emotions exhibit on the 21st also featured Marco Mazziei (the Italian National Team’s head coach) as the guest of honor as he officially presented his number 5 jersey to the museums founder, Onorato Arisi. The jersey will now officially be on display as one of the museum’s permanent objects. “It’s a great privilege to have the opportunity to be apart of this wonderful collection of sports memorabilia,” expressed Mazzieri. “I have to thank Arisi for this great honor, just knowing that I am a contributor to this spectacular exhibit is something that I can’t express in words.”
