Team Italy U15 softball squad prepares for Utsugi Cup in Japan

With the U15 Softball World Cup in Tokyo looming in October, the Team Italy U15 softball squad will get the opportunity to gain some valuable experience in Japan by participating in the Utsugi Cup, which takes place in Takasaki City from June 2-4, 2023.

The city of Takasaki in association with local newspaper Jomo Shimbun is proud to present the Utsugi Cup, an international U15 softball tournament featuring teams from Japan, the United States, China, Mexico, Tanzania and Italy. The games will be played from June 2-4, 2023 with June 5, 2023 being used as a make-up day in case of rain.

The sixteen Italian athletes selected for the Utsugi Cup will meet on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Rome before departing from Fiumicino airport for Tokyo on the following day. Team Italy U15 manager Maristella Perizzolo will be accompanied by pitching coach Stefano Filippini, coaches Dante Di Lauro and Paolo Verrecchia, physiotherapist Federica Frediani and team physician Dr. Margherita Rigillo.
