Team Italy roster and schedule revealed for U15 Softball World Cup in Japan

Team Italy manager Maristella Perizzolo has announced the names of the 16 players and three reserves at home for the upcoming U15 Softball World Cup in Tokyo, Japan from October 21-29, 2023. The Italians are in Group A along with host Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei and Peru.
The Team Italy U15 softball squad arrives at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport on October 19, 2023 to begin an uphill battle in the first edition of the U15 Softball World Cup from October 21st to 29th. The tournament will be played on three venues within the Japanese capital: Setagaya City Okura Sports Center Baseball Grounds, Komazawa Olympic Park Sports Complex Baseball Stadium and Ota Stadium.
European silver medalist Team Italy is in Group A and makes itsU15 Softball World Cup debut on October 21st at 6pm (local time) against New Zealand. The Italians play Mexico on 22 October 22nd at 6pm (local time), Japan (23 October 23rd at 12.30pm (local time) and a doubleheader on October 24th beginning at 10 am (local time) with a battle against Peru followed by a 12.30pm (local time) clash against Chinese Taipei. Group B features European champion Czech Republic, Brazil, Uganda, USA, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. After the initial round, the top three teams in each group will advance to the Super Round, while the remaining teams will compete in the Placement Round.
Prior to departing for Japan, the Team Italy U15 softball squad will train in Legnano from October 14-17, 2023. Azzurrine manager Maristella Perizzolo will be assisted by coaches Stefano Filippini, Paolo Verrecchia and Dante Di Lauro, delegation manager Claudio Marinelli, physiotherapist Federica Frediani and team physician Dr. Margherita Rigillo.
