ISL, Bussolengo remains perfect in Division B. In Division A, La Loggia takes firm control of first

Getting started with the two game series between Rhibo La Loggia and the Rheavendors Caronno. In this one it was the defending champs took both games one and two thus bettering their overall record to 9 and 3 on the season and moving their lead over Bollate for the top spot in the division to a game and a half. The final in game one of the double header was ten to nothing. Picking up the win for Rhibo was Elisa Brandino, while suffering the loss for Caronno was Giulia Bollini. Rhibo’s bats put on an impressive display where they banged out 15 hits in only four innings. On a side note, doing some yard work with a solo shot in the 3rd was Amanda Fama, it was her second homer of the year. In game two it was a much closer battle, but in the end it was once again La Loggia who came out victorious. Picking up the complete game victory was Lindsey Beisser. Jessica Camello had a nice day with the bat, going 2 for 3 with 1 run scored. Sara Avanzi also had a solid game at the plate going 1 for 3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

  

On Saturday in Bollate, there was a two game series that featured the derby between the home team, Bollate, and the visitors, Legnano. In game one Bollate lost a step on Rhibo La Loggia in the standings after they suffered the three to one loss at the hands of Silvia Durot who went a complete 7 innings on the bump for the win. Legnano got on the board first in the 6th with a single run, and added another 2 in the 7th to take a firm grip on the game. Bollate was able to cross one in bottom of 7th, but that would be all they would get off of Durot, as she was able to buckle down for the win. In game 2 Bollate came back with a big 8 to 1 win thanks to a huge 5 run 3rd inning off of Alessia Buscaglia. The win by Bollate puts them at a 7 and 4 mark on the season, while Legnano now sits two games under .500 at 4 and 6.

  

Up in Ronchi del Legionari there was a four game series that took place between the visiting Banco di Sardegna Nuoro and the home Staranzano Stars. The two clubs exchanged blows back and forth in games one and two.. Game one went to Nuoro by the final of 6 to 3 with Paola Cavallo going the complete game for the victory. Collina, Waugh, and Cavallo all picked up two hits apiece for Nuoro. In game two the tables turned and it was the Stars turn to walk away with the win by the final of 7 to 0. Picking up the win for Staranzano was Mikayla Endicott, while it was Kori Waugh who suffered the loss. When the two hit the field on Sunday morning and afternoon for two games it was the Stars who came out swinging with the 9 to 1 victory. Going the complete game on the bump for the Stars was Veronica Comar, while in the box Caterina Boaro went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs for her club. In the final matchup of the weekend it was the Stars who once again controlled the scoreboard, picking up the win by the final of 15 to 1. After suffering three losses on the weekend, Nuoro remains in the cellar, while the Stars were able to climb back in the race for the playoffs with three ‘W’s’ on the weekend.

        

 

  

In Division B, Specchiasol Bussolengo moved to a perfect 10 and 0 on the season after they were able to sweep their two game set with Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana. Game one went by the final of 7 to 0, with Alice Ronchetti going the complete game for the victory. Bussolengo scored 1 in the 1st and 3rd, a big 4 in the 5th to put the game away, and another icing topper in the bottom of the 6th to put an early end to the game. In the batters box, Bennet, Bruins, and Marazzi all picked up two hits apiece for Bussolengo. In game two Dino Bigioni Unione Fermana put Bussolengo’s perfect season to the test by taking them into extras, however when the dust settled it was Kimberly Bruins complete game effort, which allowed Bussolengo to walk off Unione Fermana when Brandi Prisc scored on a fielding error committed by Agnese Pietroni. 2 to 1 was the final in this one.

  

Keeping pace with Bussolengo after they were able to sweep their two game set over Old Parma Taurus on Saturday was Fiorini Forlí. Game one was taken by the easy final of 8 to 1, with the win going to Mara Papucci. 12 hits in all were picked up by Forlí, with two apiece being picked up by Grifagno, Montanari, Gellerman, and Laghi. Game two was also controlled by Forlí, as the Fiorini girls got to it early with 2 in the 1st, which was then followed by 1 in the 2nd and 3rd, and finally one more in the 6th. Picking up the win was Ilaria Cacciamani, while in the box, Carlotta Zauli had a perfect day with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.

  

Finally in Collecchio, Labadini and Caserta split their two game series on Saturday with game one going to Caserta by the final of 7 to 6. Picking up the win for Caserta was Susanna Mancini, as she threw a complete game where she gave up 6 runs on 5 hits. On the other side of the ball, Collecchio committed an alarming 5 errors on defense. In game two the tides turned the way of Collecchio thanks to a star performance by Madison Holub. Holub went a complete 7 innings on the mound, where she struck out an impressive 20 hitters, and allowed only 1 hit.
