Rain keeps Team Italy women's softball squad lifting in the weight room at Jackie Robinson Training Complex

The Olympic-bound Team Italy women's softball squad did not let a second consecutive rainy day at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida on April 20, 2021 get in the way of a productive strength and conditioning workout in the weight room. Practicing social distancing and spread out six feet apart, the players pushed themselves to the limit knowing Olympic foe Team USA was working just as hard at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex.

Team Italy manager Federico Pizzolini, coaches Giovanna Palermi and Giulio Brusa. physiotherapists Elio Paolini and Ulisse Hernandez as well as athletic trainer Francesca Ambrouso were on hand to motivate the players to take it to another level by envisioning a medal in the Tokyo Olympics. With Team USA in proximity at the same time, one could not deny the intensity of the Italian players knowing they would soon be going head-to-head with the softball powerhouse at the start of the international competition on July 21, 2021.

Team Italy will not have to wait 90 days to compete against Olympic foe Team Canada as the Azzurre squad will be soon be departing for the CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers, where the Tokyo-bound squad will play a pair of doubleheaders against the Canadians on April 25 and 26 with games slated for 11 am and 1:30 pm each day. In addition, Team Italy will play an exhibition game against Florida International University in Miami on April 27 at 6 pm. Forza #Italia! #PerEnrico
