Italy 12U KO’d 14-0 against Korea , beats Philippines 13-4

TAIPEI CITY-After getting introduced to the world stage Fridaywith a 23-0 loss to Venezuela at the International Baseball Federation'sinaugural 12U Baseball World Championship in Taipei, the little Azzurrri were 14-0victims to the hard hitting Korean National squad yesterday afternoon.

Korea handed Italy their second defeat in as many games and neededonly five innings to register the victory by taking advantage of the 10-runmercy rule.

Italy managed to increase their offensive output, having recordedtheir first six hits of the tournament, but failed again to push a runneracross the plate.

In Sunday's contest against the Philippines, Italy unleashedan offensive attack that allowed them to taste their first success after twolopsided losses.

Italy defeated the Philippines 14-3 with the use of 11 hits,including a homerun by Leonardo Seminati.

Italy, now 1-2, will be looking to go to 2 wins and 2 losseswhen it faces Indonesia on Tuesday.
