Legnano still in cruise control in Italian Softball League

Legnano continues to lead the pack of softballers of the Italian Softball League seven weeks into the season.

Legnano (11-3) pulled off a stinging sweep of the Titano Hornets at home. Legnano scored two victories, putting up nine runs in both games: 9-2 and 9-5.

Caserta managed to complete a sweep against ISL newcomer Caronno. Caserta survived a late surge by last-place Caronno in the tail end of the double-header, barely pushing past Caronno 3-2.

Third-place Forli also kept pace with a sweep of their own, keeping them two games off the lead.

Bollate and Macerata went into Week 7 tied in the middle of the standings, and there was little changed after the two teams engaged each other in Macerata. Bollate got the early win, while Macerata moved past Bollate in the rematch under the lights. Both teams have an identical record of 8 wins and 6 losses.

Seventh-place Fermana traveled to eighth-place Nuoro in Sardinia. In Game 2, Fermana scored the decisive run in the top of the 7th to win 4-2 and deny Nuoro a sweep, as the Sardinians had taken the first game of the series 5-1.
