Redipuglia, Crocetta lead Serie A Fed League after Week 2

ROME--The early results of the 2011 Series A Federal League have demonstrated the balance of the Northand South Conferences. Ten of eighteen games in Week 2 were decided by 2 runsor less.

Only Redipuglia, currently atop the North Conference, haskept a "0" in the loss column after 2 weeks of play and a pair ofdouble-headers.

Perhaps the first real surprise of the season is Crocetta,which sits in first place in the South Conference with a 3-1 record. Crocettais fresh off a Week 2 sweep of traditional Italian Baseball powerhouse Modena.

Failing to register a win thus far are three teams:Piacenza, Bologna in the North and Poviglio in the South. Over the weekend, Piacenzalost a pair of 1-run games against Padova, Bologna lost its double-header toRedipuglia by a total of 3 runs and Poviglio had the week off.

The six other double-headers were split among thecontestants. 

Bollate and Ponte di Piave each took a game in Bollate.

Juve 98 went 1-1 at Collecchio.

Rovigo and Codogno shared the winnings in Rovigo.

The 2010 champ Reggio Emilia opened its season with a split withArezzo.

Rome and Messina left the stadium even after 2 games in theeternal city.

Anzio and Sala Baganza put 26 runs on the board in a 15-11victory for Anzio in Anzio.  Sala bouncedback with a 6-5 extra-inning win to ease the roadtrip back home.
