Parma Clima wins back-to-back European Champions Cups

Parma Clima won its second consecutive European Champions Cup and 15th title in club history after defeating L&D Amsterdam in the final on Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Bonn, Germany

After losing 12-4 to L&D Amsterdam just two days earlier in European Champions Cup Group A round-robin action, Parma Clima turned the tables on the Dutch team in the final with a 7-6 victory to win back-to-back European Champions Cup titles on Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Bonn, Germany.

Down 6-4 in the top of the seventh inning, Parma Clima slugger Manuel Joseph hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to one run. He proved to be the hero in the top of the seventh inning when driving in teammates Aldo Koutsoyanopulos and Exequiel Talevi with a two-run double down the left field line to ultimately give Parma Clima the 7-6 victory over L&M Amsterdam in the 2022 European Champions Cup final.

It was a total team effort by Parma Clima. Aldo Koutsoyanopulos (2-for-3, 2 BB, R), Exequiel Talevi (3-for-6, R, 2 RBI), Noel Gonzalez (1-for-5, R, RBI, HR), Manuel Joseph (3-for4, 2-2B. HR. BB, 2 R, 3 RBI), Alex Sambucci (1-for4, BB), Cesare Astorri (1-for-4, 2B, BB, R, RBI) and Riccardo Flisi (3-for-3, 2 BB, R, SB) led the offensive charge. Catcher Alberto Mineo called a great game behind the plate. Pitchers Emailin Montilla, Carlos Contreras, Jose Diaz, Yomel Rivera and Marc Habeck secured the 2022 European Champions Cup final win.
