Nettuno shining in IBL round-robin playoffs

ROME – The final three games of 9 game Italian Baseball League’s unique round-robin playoff format will conclude this weekend, and there is still much to be decided.

After the first six games, Nettuno has been the surprise team of the postseason, winning their series against Bologna to start things off and following up with another series win against San Marino.  In both series, Nettuno took two out of the three games contested.

Bologna (2-4), which will face San Marino this weekend, will have to pray for a miracle to advance to the prestigious Italian Baseball Series championship.  They will require a full three-game sweepage of San Marino and have to hope the baseball gods will answer them, so that Nettuno takes down Rimini in at least two of their three scheduled games.

Both Rimini and San Marino have won as many games as they have lost (3-3) and still have their fates in their own hands.   

By the end of Saturday night, all questions will be answered.
