ROME – The final team roster (FTR) has been submitted to the International Baseball Federation by the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation on behalf of skipper Dimes Gamberini.

Gamberini gathered Italy’s best and brightest young base-ballers in Nettuno the past week for workouts and split-squad scrimmages.  After consulting his staff, he has determined which troopers he will take into heavy battle in Mexico.

The IBAF decision-makers adjusted the international tournament structure during its Congress last year, reconfiguring the 16U into the 15U, which IBAF contends will provide more of a continuum since the tournament plan starts off with the highly popular and successful 12U category, which the IBAF rolled out in 2011.

No matter the age limit, Gamberini has indicated his boys will be ready, “Our staff has been preparing our athletes for the last year to arrive at this point.”

“The youngsters will be ready to give it their all [on the world stage],” Galberini remarked with a stiff upper lip.
