Team Italy roster and schedule revealed for U15 European Softball Championship from July 18-23, 2022
The young and talented Team Italy U15 softball players have arrived in Enschede, the Netherlands to compete for the European Championship title from July 18-23, 2022
After a long bus ride from Bollate, the Team Italy U15 softball manager Maristella Perizzolo put her squad to the test in a practice game against Ukraine at the Tex Town Tigers complex in Enschede, the Netherlands. Azzurrine starting pitcher Giulia Squalizza and relievers Emma Silva, Giulia Colino, Kylie Milano, Federica Forlani and Vittoria Zumerle saw action in the 7-5 win over Ukraine. The two teams will meet again on Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the European Softball Championship, which takes place from July 18-23, 2022.
Team Italy U15 manager Maristella Perizzolo said, "We certainly did not expect a stratospheric performance after such a long journey to get here. We made a few too many mistakes in our practice game, and we will work hard this week to do the simple things so that we do not repeat them. This is a good group of players who work well together as a team. I must admit that I am very happy."
Team Italy opens the U15 European Softball Championship with a clash against France on July 18, 2022 at 11:15 am (local time). The Italians come back the following morning at 9 am (local time) for a battle against Czech Republic before taking on Croatia at 2 pm (local time). Team Italy plays Germany on July 20, 2022 at 11 am (local time) and then returns for the nightcap against the Netherlands at 6:30 pm (local time). Round-robin action continues on July 21, 2022 with contests against Lithuania at 9:15 am (local time) and Ukraine at 4:15 pm (local time). Team Italy concludes Group A play the following day with a 2 pm (local time) game against Great Britain.
The U15 European Softball Championship Placement Games, Bronze Medal Game and Gold Medal Game take place on July 23, 2022.
