Team Italy uses Between The Lines technology in Toronto to prepare for U18 Baseball World Cup

Innovative leader within the baseball, softball and golf industry, Between The Lines helps Team Italy players maximize their development and exposure to college coaches and professional organizations using cutting-edge data platforms

While preparing for the U18 Baseball World Cup in Toronto, American-based Between The Lines will share its new technology with Team Italy so that players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills to college coaches and baseball professionals, who can access video and metrics remotely while an event is taking place.

Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball President Andrea Marcon said, “The relationship with Between The Lines is part of our program of providing college opportunities for our players. We have already started the process with the support of the Italian American Baseball Foundation. Our players will now have ability to showcase for both college and professional coaches during practices and international competitions. Opening these doors is our primary objective, not only to make our athletes grow technically, but also to help them along the path of cultural and personal growth."

Between The Lines co-founder and former Colorado Rockies pitcher Matt Meier said, “The Italian U18 national team will be in Toronto to play against some college teams in preparation for the World Cup. During their time in Canada, Between The Lines has organized an event for them on August 31, 2022, when we will collect all the data both from the showcase and from the game. Between The Lines will not only make this data available to college coaches in the United States, but also provide players with information necessary for their improvement. Between The Lines is able to build metric projections for athletes from the showcase results to help them understand where they are currently in their development path, where they need to go and how they will get there.”

Between The Lines has built many relationships with college coaches over the years with a database of over 2,500 coaches across the United States. As a result, players receive maximum exposure and record numbers of college scholarship offers nationwide.

Team Italy U18 manager Francesco Aluffi and his Azzurri baseball squad will be afforded the following by Between The Lines while in Toronto:

Accessibility of Live Streaming Metrics: Between The Lines boards will be livestreamed, which allows coaches to participate live from anywhere in the world, with access to video and player metrics.

Rankings based on metrics: Between The Lines rankings will be based on the performance of athletes measured in their showcases. Human judgment does not contribute to the construction of rankings. The system based on classification data accurately depicts the measurable development of the player.

Between The Lines Showcase Expert: After a Between The Lines showcase, the team schedules meetings with each attendee to help them understand the metrics recorded during the event. These are inserted into the Between The Lines algorithm which provides a specific technical and athletic path for player success.

Between The Lines has an average of 30-40 coaches per online event, making it easier for them to recruit athletes without having to invest too much time and money on travel, and provides full coverage of the event, including searching for coaches. Between The Lines promotes live updates on social media platforms and provides professional reviews highlighting the best players.
