ROME – The front office of Elettra Energia Novara confirms the signing of 24 year-old American catcher, Jose Ramos.

The switch-hitting native of the Bronx, New York also is in possession of a Dutch passport and will be considered a European Union import.

While finishing up his career at Western Oklahoma State Community College, Ramos was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 20th round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft.

Novara manager, Mike Romano, tells FIBS that Ramos should be able “help out behind the dish and at the plate.”

Novara is currently winless on the season, having lost all eleven of its contests in 2012, and management is looking to perform first aid with the addition of Ramos.
