Kingdom of the Netherlands, Germany and Spain win U18 European Baseball Championship openers

Nine countries are competing in the U18 European Baseball Championship in Macerata and Montegranaro from July 5-11, 2021

Prior to Team Italy making its debut in Macerata against Lithuania in the first round on July 5, 2021 at 8 pm (local time) on www.baseballsoftball.tv, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Germany and Spain won their U18 European Baseball Championship openers.

Group A: Kingdom of the Netherlands (1-0) dominated Israel (0-1) in an 18-0 shutout in Montegranaro. Team Italy, Lithuania, and France are also in Group A.

Group B: Germany (1-0) enjoyed a 4-3 walk-off victory over Czech Republic (0-1) in Macerata.

Also in Group B action, Austria (0-1) fell victim to a 12-0 shutout by Spain (1-0) in Macerata.

The first round continues through July 9, 2021. Tomorrow in Macerata Israel takes on Lithuania at 10 am, and Germany plays Austria at 3 pm. Team Italy travels to nearly Montegranaro for a clash against France at 4 pm.

The two top teams from the U18 European Baseball Championship qualify for the U18 Baseball World Cup from September 10-19, 2021 at LECOM Park in Bradenton, Florida.

All the U18 European Baseball Championship games are streaming live at www.baseballsoftball.tv. The Euro Championship semi-finals and final games on July 10 and 11 respectively will be also be on FIBSTV.com.
