Florence, Milan to battle for Baseball for Blind championship

The semifinals have been decided, with Fiorentina and Milan escaping the unscathed, which sets up a final encounter for the 2012 Baseball Played Blind league championship.

The semifinals, which were played on Sunday, June 17 in Bologna, as FIBS President, Riccardo Fraccari, looked on.

The Cagliari Tigers took  Fiorentina to the distance in the best-of-three playoffs. After winning easily (11-3) the first game, the Tuscans  dropped the rematch, 17-16. Cagliari launched some long balls to surprise Fiorentina.  In the rubber match, it was all Fiorentina: 5-0.

Milan, the 2011 champion, finished up the day’s events early, polishing off Ghulam in the first two games to close out the series and begin chalk talks on outlining strategies for the series championship.

The final will take place on Sunday, 24 June. At Leoni Park in Bologna.
